The Mary L. Sturm Award is given each year to an individual who demonstrates outstanding community service.

The Mary Sturm award winner should be a person who has given a number of years of unselfish service to the town of Fairview by promoting citizenship, organizations, education, and religion to all ages. The winner should set such an example with his or her virtues, duties, efforts, honor, ethics, and integrity that we are enjoying a better community as a result of those efforts. The winner should be serving in more than one specific field, not by profession, but by a dedication to serving others.
